The way that maps are generated and presented in the online referral application form has changed. This includes referral applications already in development as well as new applications. The changes are intended to make the mapping tool more user friendly and won’t affect any of your mapping data. The Minister invites public comment for each referral regarding whether the proposed action is a controlled action. Under section 74(3) of the EPBC Act, proposed actions are open for comment for 10 business days. Guidance on how to make a public comment is available at Public comments and decisions on actions referred under the EPBC Act - DCCEEW.

The EPBC Public Portal is best viewed through a desktop, laptop or tablet.  If you wish to make a comment using a mobile device go to Open for Comments. Please note, only one document can be uploaded per submission. The size limit of the file must not exceed 10MB.

The department is currently completing updates to projects and information that displays on this Portal. Over the next week you may see project status fields update for some projects. Please contact your departmental point of contact should you need any assistance.
